mediarte.be is the ‘Social fund for the audiovisual and film production sectors in Belgium’. It was created to manage and redistribute training levies agreed upon in sector collective agreements. It represents the interest of the audiovisual sector since 2008, an of the cinema feature films production subsector since 2012.
mediarte.be produces yearly statistics on the employment situation in the sector, and distributes training grants to the professionals covered by the two collective agreements mentioned above. It manages an online information platform for future and current professionals in the audiovisual sector, as well as a guide to occupations and a description of occupational standards. The portal also centralises job adds, and lists all existing vocational training schemes in Belgium. Finally mediarte.be organises public events and runs specific programmes such as a large-scale initiative to promote diversity in the workplace.
