Creative Skills Europe

A futureproof sector : greener, safer, and more inclusive – Resources

Limiting the environmental impact of our activities has become central for the audiovisual and live performance sectors as it has for our societies as a whole. Reducing the carbon footprint – by saving energy, reducing waste and recycling or promoting smart mobility, etc. – demands a shift in mindsets, investment in infrastructures, and the acquisition of new skills across all occupations. Environmental sustainability should therefore become a priority in initial and continuous education, in the classrooms and in our workplaces.

In addition to adopting greener practices, the cultural and creative sectors also need to become safer and more inclusive. Training is key to gain a better understanding and knowledge of the concepts, laws and regulations that frame gender equality, non-discrimination and prevention of violence and harassment. Recruitment and training can also be a powerful instrument to diversify entry routes into the sector!

Throughout the month, we shared tools and resources from across Europe that will help our sector be better equipped to face the many challenges ahead of us. Learn more about how and where to acquire the right skills for the green transition, initiatives aimed at bringing more women into technical occupations or recruitment manuals for a more diverse workforce!
