A large consortium of partners (universities, theatres, culture departments in local governments and a quality agency) led by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) has pooled together, with support of EU funding, to promote equal opportunities and accessibility to cultural events.
The ACT project will develop a new professional profile, that of “Media Accessibility Expert/Manager for the Scenic Arts”, as well as training proposals related to the job.
Another European partnership ADLAB PRO is working on free-access didactic materials in support of another occupation: the audio describer (an audiovisual translator charged with producing verbal descriptions for the blind community).These descriptions recount the visual features of a work of art or of an audiovisual product.
