MediaRoad project European partnership

MediaRoad is a newly EU-funded H2020 project that aspires to reawaken a ‘start-up mentality’ in the media sector, reshaping the way organisations collaborate and deploy new ideas in the market.

Augmented and virtual reality, robot journalism and 5G as well as future research policy priorities for the media sector are just some of the ‘tomorrow’s world’ topics this EU-funded project will touch upon. Spearhead by the European Broadcasting Union, the project brings together Europe’s most prominent broadcasters (BBC, RAI, VRT, Association of European Radios) with leading media research institutes (IRT, EPFL, IMEC) and independent producers (CEPI TV) to form a diverse network of media organizations and key stakeholders.

The objective is to expand/strengthen this initial network and to create an open European media ecosystem for innovation that will draw upon existing initiatives developed by the partners on how to innovate with start-ups and SMEs and aim at developing a long-term policy vision for the future of the audiovisual and radio sector as well as social media.

The MediaRoad launch event will take place on the 9th of October 2017 in Brussels.
