As new tools for creation are emerging all the time, how to keep informed and learn all along our careers?
There are tons of online acting classes out there to stay in tune. If you want to learn more about Virtual theatre and if you already have some acting skills then the choice might be limited for the moment. But here are a few tips and tricks.
The Rose Bruford College in the UK offers summer courses and special acting courses ‘tailormade for the digital age’ in any form you want. From post-graduate to summer courses, short and long, digital and physical. The program changes from time to time so do take a look at the link below. Also the Virtual Acting Studio is one of the few studios focusing on teaching. They offer consultancy, integration strategy and masterclasses to accommodate the natural integration of Virtual Acting. For actors they offer the opportunity to register to their free database, and other training and networking opportunities.
It might be worth reading a few books on how the approach for creating immersive theatre is totally different to traditional theatre. Putting the user in the center of the stage is the most important thing. A good read from Nick Hern (“Creating Worlds - How to Make Immersive Theatre”, link below).
